Despite the movie hitting screens over 15 years ago, efforts are still being made to adapt a continuation of the story, with Jason Statham's production company reportedly possessing the rights to Connolly's 2011 sequel novel, Viva La Madness.

Statham intends to pick up the XXXX role himself, yet it was later reported in 2015 that the novel was now being adapted into a TV show for Gaumont International Television.

Despite the book being relatively well received and Netflix coming aboard to distribute the series, the show's planned March 2018 shoot ultimately never happened.

As intriguingly weird as a sequel series starring The Stath actually is - no matter how totally different he is to Daniel Craig - you probably shouldn't get your hopes up for this going before cameras anytime soon.
