Rumours of on-set problems soon reached the offices of paymasters Warner Bros. as it became clear that this movie shoot wasn’t exactly going according to plan.

Then-studio head Jeff Robinov flew out to visit the set amid reports that Fury Road was over-budget and falling behind the planned schedule, and noted journalist Tom Junod reported that Robinov even offered to let Tom Hardy spar with him “so that he could work out his issues.”

Producer Denise De Novi was also apparently assigned to keep a close eye on production and sent out to Namibia to supervise and report back on its status, and Miller had to make some difficult choices to keep his dream project afloat.
