Over the last six or seven years, Netflix has created some truly terrific shows that not only rank highly on the quality scale, but have also been able to leave a lasting and sizable mark on the world of pop-culture.

Stranger Things, House Of Cards, Orange Is The New Black, The Crown, Mindhunter, 13 Reasons Why... it's hard to picture the last few years of television without these shows being included, and even though they're all really popular, it's actually the service's latest effort - Henry Cavill's The Witcher - that has become its flagship property.

In January 2020, it was reported that The Witcher was "on track" to be Netflix's biggest debut season for an original show that the company has ever had. Plus, additional figures revealed that a staggering 46% of subscribers tuned in to watch it, so yeah... expect many more seasons of Superman: Monster Hunter to come in the future.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
