20 Things You Didn't Know About Raising Arizona

9. Tex Cobb Also Lied About Being Able To Ride A Motorcycle... Which Caused Some Issues

Possibly the most vital part of Leonard Smalls' character is that he is the 'Lone Biker of the Apocalypse', meaning being able to ride a motorcycle during scenes was pivotal.

Not only could Cobb not do this, but he failed to mention it to the Coens until filming had begun.

There are a couple of stories pertaining to issues surrounding this inability, as one story details how Cobb crashed the cycle on the first day of filming and broke his shoulder, an injury that still caused him pain many years later and required surgery before he could return to filming. Another story tells of how he managed to ride the cycle directly into a hole in the middle of the desert.

Moral of the story: you should probably disclose that you can't ride a heavy, dangerous vehicle before you turn up to set if you want to keep your bones intact.
