3. Jason Blum Turned Down The Movie
These days, Jason Blum is one of the key names in the horror game and is one of the people responsible for so many modern classics.
Back in 1999, however, Blum turned down the chance to pick up the rights for The Blair Witch Project. At that point, Jason was working for Miramax and passed on the opportunity to acquire and distribute The Blair Witch Project.
Of course, Jason Blum would later form the Blumhouse Productions banner which so often specialises in producing low-budget horror offerings such as Get Out, and the Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister, and The Purge franchises – the aim being to generate a large profit margin on pictures that are relatively cheap to produce.
