20 Things You Didn't Know About The Omen

4. Gregory Peck Lived Up To His Reputation

It was much to the delight of the cast and crew that Peck was every bit the Atticus Finch they hoped he'd be. By all accounts, he was a gentleman during shooting, even while suffering through a personal crisis. Donner only recalls having one fight with him over how his character would react to his wife's death. Peck wanted to throw things in a rage, Donner preferred a quiet, simmering boil that could lead to Thorn contemplating the unthinkable but inevitable: the murder of a child (child of Satan, but hey).

After viewing footage, Peck agreed Donner was right. Meanwhile, character actor David Warner was cast as the doomed photojournalist who notices a disturbing trend in his photos of the recently deceased. His role is now somewhat iconic, largely because of how he meets his end, but the stunt-intensive part was torture for the actor. Warner was suffering from psoriasis at the time.

Peck felt terrible watching him force his way through shooting, and paid for him to fly to Switzerland for treatment.
