20 Things You Didn't Know About The Rocky Horror Picture Show

15. Mick Jagger Wanted To Play Dr. Frank-N-Furter

In addition to Fox proposing a number of popular musicians to play the movie's lead roles, Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger actively sought out the role of bisexual transvestite scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

Though it's easy to imagine Jagger giving an electric performance in the role, he also would've brought a distinctly different energy to the table.

Of course, in the end Sharman decided to stick with Tim Curry, who had already made the part so thoroughly his own on the stage.

Considering the publicity Jagger's involvement would've lent the film, turning him down was a mighty ballsy move, albeit one which evidently paid off dividends.
