Although the popular theory is that the Xenomorph's were bio-engineered indirectly as a weapon, it is not believed that they are simply floating through space waiting to come into contact with humans or other creatures exploring the cosmos, but instead actually have their own home planet.

Known as Xenomorph Prime, planet G-435 is commonly referred to as the Alien hive world, and is believed to be home to multiple variations on the species. According to the Dark Horse Comics mythos, the Xenomorphs crash-landed on G-435 after they managed to take over the ship they were being contained inside of and over several generations have completely transformed it into a giant hive.
