20 Things You Didn't Know About Unbreakable
15. Comic Book Colours Appear Throughout
M. Night Shyamalan took inspiration from actual comic book art styles in the film, particularly with the colour palette. Like a typical hero and villain from a comic book, both David Dunn and Elijah 'Mr Glass' Price have discernible colours associated with them, David's being green and Elijah's being purple.
Throughout the film, David is surrounded by and wears the colour green while Elijah does the same with purple. There is also a scene in the film in which David's son Joseph, is playing with superhero action figures and one of them is clearly wearing a green cape.
Coincidentally, purple happens to be actor Samuel L. Jackson's favourite colour, which is why he convinced George Lucas to allow him a purple lightsaber in Star Wars.
