15. Anna Paquin Was The First Choice To Play Enola

The pivotal role of young Enola was ultimately played by Tina Majorino in one of her first movie parts, but the production originally offered it to another rising actress - Anna Paquin.

While most young performers would likely jump at the chance to appear in such a huge movie, Paquin already had an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress to her name for her role in 1994's The Piano, making her the second-youngest Oscar winner in history at just age 11. As such, she didn't need the movie.

Paquin actually didn't star in any movies in either 1994 or 1995, and her next project was Franco Zeffirelli's 1996 adaptation of Jane Eyre, before delving into card-carrying blockbuster territory in 2000 with X-Men.
