20 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Children Of Men

15. Cilve Owen, Baby Guardian?

Children Of Men
New Line Cinema

Despite being released in late 2006, most people who saw Children of Men did so in 2007 due to its end-year release date. That means avid movie-goers got the chance to see Clive Owen protect a newborn baby in this film as well as in the over-the-top actioner, Shoot ‘Em Up in the same year.

To be fair, this is nothing more than an amusing coincidence as both films are very different from one another in terms of tone and execution. For starters, seeing Theo Faron in full on action hero mode (guns and one-liners) would have been jarring to say the least.

This is especially apparent in both films' treatment of violence as Children of Men's visceral, grim approach is a far cry from the stylized and "in on the joke" sensibilities of Shoot 'Em Up.
