Among the unique physical characteristics of the Na'vi, they have four fingers and toes instead of the five possessed by humans.

Yet the artificial Na'vi Avatars are a little different - they've got that extra digit, which makes sense given that the Avatars are a hybrid of Na'vi and human DNA.

As such, when Neytiri dons war paint for the final stand against the RDA and has a five-fingered palm print on her chest, we're left to deduce that it was placed there by Jake.

This is the most significant biological difference between the Na'vi and Avatars but not the only one - the Avatars also have considerably more pronounced eyebrows.
