20 Things You Somehow Missed In Avengers: Infinity War

7. The Worst Year Of Thor's Life

Starting way back in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now in its 15th year. This monstrous juggernaut of a film franchise is unlike any other, as many fans have genuinely grown up with it, or weren't even born when it began.

It may seem like a lifetime, and for the likes of Tony Stark and the majority of the MCU heroes, it has been a big chunk of their lives. Not for Thor, however. The God of Thunder confirmed in Infinity War that he is over 1500 years old, which surely means he experienced the Infinity Saga differently to everyone else.

Between Thor first being cast out of Asgard and landing on Midgard in 2011, to taking on Thanos in the Battle of Earth in 2023, there was a gap of 12 years. To a being that is 1500 years old, this is less than one per cent of his lifespan.

If you translate that to the lifespan of someone with a life expectancy of 80 years, this is like a normal human going through everything Thor went through (dead mother, dead father, dead sister, dead brother, dead best friend, losing Mjolnir, blowing up his home, the tremendous weight of guilt after Thanos' initial victory and subsequent spiral into depression) over roughly seven or eight months. Worst. Year. Ever.
