20 Things You Somehow Missed In Captain America: Civil War
5. Steve Wasn't Alone
During the debate between the Avengers on the subject of the Sokovia Accords, Steve Rogers was forced to leave. There wouldn’t have been many things that could have pulled Cap away from such a serious issue at that time, but the death of Peggy Carter was one of them.
Steve had a simple text saying that she had passed away peacefully in his sleep, and he seemingly jumped on the first plane to England to pay his respects. He was a pallbearer for his first love, and was understandably distraught.
After the funeral, Natasha came up to him. It seems that she flew out to England as well, not with Steve but apparently managed to still get there for the service. Though they spoke about the Accords, Nat knew there was no changing his mind, and instead was only there because she didn’t want him to be alone.
It’s a lovely sentiment, but did she forget that Sam had travelled across the pond with him? He was sitting right next to Steve through the entire thing, and so while this couldn’t have been easy for Steve, he certainly wasn’t alone.
