20 Things You Somehow Missed In Ghostbusters

9. Stay Puft’s Foreshadowing

Ghostbusters Stay Puft
Columbia Pictures

When the Marshmallow Man comes around at the end of the film it's both surprising and hilarious. On a first watch, it almost feels like it comes out of nowhere but there a couple of seeds sprinkled throughout to make Stay Puft part of the Ghostbusters universe and they both come at key moments.

When Dana first realises her apartment is haunted, sat amongst her groceries as her eggs cook on the counter is a bag of marshmallows, complete with the Stay Puft logo.

Most importantly, when the firehouse explodes and the film's second montage begins, the first thing we see is a wide-shot of the building and a Stay Puft advertisement painted onto a wall. Signifying that, amongst all the ghosts now running rampant, that the Marshmallow Man isn't far behind them.
