20 Things You Somehow Missed In Ghostbusters

7. The Phone Number Worked

Before we ever see Venkman, Spengler and Stantz don their iconic outfits and positron colliders, we get a humble glimpse into their first advertising campaign. Planting the seed for Dana's call for them, she sees a commercial on her television set (that, ironically, has been turned on by spirits).

The Ghostbusters proclaim "we're ready to believe you" and their phone number appears on screen.

Now, this one is something fans almost certainly missed unless they were old enough when the film came out to try it for themselves but that number actually worked. If you called you'd hear an out-of-character pre-recorded message from Murray and Aykroyd saying that they were too busy to take the call because they were tending to scared Broadway actresses. The fun never stops.

Coming from a content creation background that now spans over two decades, Psy cut her teeth on personal video production and community radio. Originally joining the team as a writer and presenter, she added video editing duties to her responsibilities over time and became the longest-standing editor of the irreverent gaming show Tues Your Own Adventure. Psy has worked on many previews and reviews, long-form editorials (either her own, or supporting as an editor), as a frequent quizmaster and more. Praised for the two-pronged attack of her hard work ethic and light-hearted editing style, Psy is otherwise known as a font of retro video game knowledge which has caused her to rack up many quiz wins. Outside of WhatCulture, Psy runs First Aid Spray Podcast - a long-running channel that focuses on Resident Evil in all of it's forms.
