20 Things You Somehow Missed In Inglourious Basterds

9. The Yellow Leaf On Cpl. Wicki's Chest Represents The Star Of David

During the Bear Jew's introductory scene, a leaf lands on Corporal Wilhelm Wicki's (Gedeon Burkhard) jacket and remains there for the rest of the scene.

Though this was seemingly a happy accident, some have noted the leaf's resemblance to the Star of David patch that the Nazis forced Jewish people to wear as a means of identification.

In the event you think we might be reading too much into it, Eli Roth even confirmed that this visual was noted during production and intentionally kept in the film by Tarantino:

"There's another scene, where a soldier is pointing at a map and a yellow leaf falls on [actor] Gideon Burkhard's chest. And someone else pointed out that it's 'down to the yellow leaf that mimics the Star of David on that soldier.' And Quentin kept that, and he kept it for a reason."
