20 Things You Somehow Missed In Inglourious Basterds

7. The Dead Dogs In The Vet Clinic

After the tavern shootout, Bridget von Hammersmark is having her leg treated at a vet clinic while she's interrogated by Aldo about what went wrong.

The exchange is intense enough that the audience is typically laser-focused on the characters, but if you peek behind them, you might notice two dead dogs in the cages behind them.

The reason for this? Tarantino cut a scene from the film in which the Basterds force the vets to help them treat Bridget by having Donny shoot two of their dogs.

Ultimately it was probably a smart cut on Tarantino's part, because having Donny kill two innocent dogs would've eroded a lot of the audience's identification with him and perhaps even the Basterds as a whole.
