20 Things You Somehow Missed In Kill Bill Volume 1

16. The Heart Rate Monitor Is Stuck On The Number "69"

Kill Bill Vol 1
Miramax

Tarantino may be one of our greatest living filmmakers, but that doesn't mean he's above placing a juvenile gag or two in his movies.

Case in point, near the start of the film when Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah) arrives at the hospital to do away with the comatose Bride, keep an eye on the heart rate monitor and you might see something unexpected.

Throughout the scene, the monitor maintains the number "69," and given the obvious sexual implications of that number, it's tough to believe that Tarantino didn't do it deliberately. Or alternatively, a member of the production design team managed to sneak it in without him knowing.

Not the most illuminating detail in the world perhaps, but somebody on set put way too much thought into it, clearly.
