20 Things You Somehow Missed In Never Say Never Again

4. Amy Irving's Cameo

When Gavan O'Herlihy's easily-manipulated Captain Jack Petachi infiltrates a US airbase to reprogramme the test flight of two cruise missiles and switch their dummy warheads for live ones, he must scan his retina into a computer within eight seconds or the airbase will be sealed. To assist him with this, SPECTRE has replaced Petachi's right cornea with an exact duplicate of that of the President of the United States of America.

That aside, the computer comes equipped with a female American voice: that of Amy Irving.

Having frequently collaborated with Brian De Palma, most notably appearing as Sue Snell in De Palma's 1976 film, Carrie, Irving later became the first Mrs Steven Spielberg and also leant her singing voice to the role of Jessica Rabbit (even though Kathleen Turner provided the character's speaking voice) in 1988's Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
