20 Things You Somehow Missed In Never Say Never Again

American actor, Billy J. Mitchell also had his first brush with James Bond in this film.

Double-0 Seven boards an American nuclear submarine in order to discreetly shadow Maximilian Largo's superyacht, The Flying Saucer, aided by Captain Pederson, played by Mitchell.

Connery's Bond surprises Pederson by revealing that he knows perhaps a little too much about U.S. Navy technology, which leads to a slightly more cumbersome remake of Thunderball's jetpack scene as Bond and Bernie Casey's Felix Leiter take to the skies to stop Klaus Maria Brandeur's Largo.

Mitchell had a far more memorable brush with Bond in the official 1995 film, GoldenEye in which he portrayed Canadian Admiral Chuck Farrell. The ill-fated Farrell was memorably crushed between the thighs of Famke Janssen's Xenia Onatopp.

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
