20 Things You Somehow Missed In Never Say Never Again

15. Wendy Leech As The Hostage

Bond And Domino Never Say Never Again
Warner Bros./MGM

Never Say Never Again introduces Bond during a mission to save a kidnapped young woman. After he rescues her, however, she reveals that she has been turned by her kidnappers when she rams a knife into his armpit.

It turns out that the mission was purely an MI6 training exercise and, whilst Bond is not actually severely injured or dead, it provides M with further justification for keeping the seemingly redundant Double-0 Section off of active duty.

The unnamed hostage was portrayed by stuntwoman, Wendy Leech, daughter of a long-time official Bond stuntman, George Leech. Amongst her other stunt work, Wendy featured in the official Bond films, For Your Eyes Only, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough. She is also married to longstanding Bond stuntman and stunt co-ordinator, Vic Armstrong, who also contributed to this film.

Contributor

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
