One of the many important, yet barely seen characters throughout Pulp Fiction was Lance. He only had one job throughout the whole story, which was to sell Vincent the heroin that was ultimately taken by Mia, and to deal with the subsequent OD.

Within the plethora of iconic scenes from Pulp Fiction, Vincent reviving Mia sits somewhere near the top but there is one little detail that is frequently overlooked. This is the reaction to the whole thing by Jody, Lance’s wife. While everyone in the room is tense and terrified at what is about to happen, Jody looks as though the anticipation and excitement might kill her.

She can’t wait to see Vincent drive the needle into Mia’s chest, which is rather a far cry from her initial reaction to the ODing woman being dragged into her house. The answer to quite why she is so excited comes from an earlier conversation in which she discusses all of her piercings.

She has 16 all told, each and every one done by a needle. While most people shudder at the thought, Jody loves needles, so to her seeing this whole thing play out must have been something like a fantasy turned all the way up to 11.
