Part two of the Pulp Fiction story picked up with Butch Coolidge and the fight he promised to throw for Marsellus Wallace. It would have been something of a short movie had he actually gone down in the fifth round as promised, so instead he screwed Marsellus out of a LOT of money.

Naturally, he became a fugitive, but was forced to go back to his apartment to pick up the family watch his dad went through so much trouble to get to him. One quick round of bullets in Vincent later and he was back in the car.

It may seem like a coincidence that the very next person he sees is Marsellus himself, and though there is no context given to how they managed to cross paths there is an obvious explanation when you think about it.

Marsellus was carrying coffee and donuts, so it seems he was there surveilling Butch’s apartment with Vincent. As the latter went in to use the bathroom, his boss must have popped out to get them breakfast and just so happened to run into the very man they were there to look for.
