After Casey's demise, we're introduced to series heroine Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and her horndog boyfriend Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich).

As the two are fooling around after he sneaks into her bedroom, if you listen closely you might notice that the light background music sounds a bit familiar.

That's because it's actually a cover of Blue Öyster Cult's hit tune "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Gus Black, which if nothing else feels like a tacit hint to the fact that Billy is himself the "Reaper" - well, one of them, anyway.

The song's inclusion is likely also a reference to the original 1978 Halloween, as the original version of the song can be heard playing in the car while Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Annie (Nancy Kyes) are on their way to babysit.
