1. Wes Craven Throws Some Mid-Credits Shade

And finally, those who bother to actually sit through the movie's end credits will find a most bizarre comment hidden at the very end - "No thanks whatsoever to The Santa Rosa City School District Governing Board."

The story behind this is simple enough: the crew received verbal permission from Santa Rosa High School's principal to shoot Scream there, but shortly before production was scheduled to begin the aforementioned governing board intervened and vetoed filming.

Between this and locals complaining about a grisly horror film being shot on their turf, Craven was forced to move filming to Sonoma Community Center situated to the southeast of Santa Rosa.

And so, a frustrated Craven got his own back by tarnishing the board's name in the annals of film history forever more.
