20 Things You Somehow Missed In The Truman Show

3. Psalm 139

Truman's boat contains another sneaky reference beyond the Christopher Columbus nod, with numerous shots showing the number "139" printed on the boat's sails.

This could be any old designation which was already on the boat when the production acquired it, but in fact, that's not the case at all.

139 is actually a reference to Psalm 139 from the Bible, which contains numerous lines speaking of an omnipotent figure and a regular human's inability to attain incredible knowledge held out of reach.

Gee, doesn't that sound familiar? It's certainly more subtle than The Truman Show's creator being named Christof, at least.
