20 Things You Somehow Missed In The Truman Show
14. There Are Hidden Cameras EVERYWHERE
Every aspect of Truman's waking life is monitored by hidden cameras, and director Peter Weir ensured to have the film's set filled with small, black cameras for audiences to seek out.
Basically every scene in the film contains hidden cameras, whether mounted on his neighbour's garbage can, to the struts in his office, or on monuments scattered around Seahaven.
Hell, even Truman's distinctive black diamond ring is actually a hidden camera - as confirmed by a deleted scene - ingeniously given to him by his "dead" father (Brian Delate) before he "drowned," ensuring that Truman would never take it off.
And so, this also explains how the production struggled to track Truman during his final escape, because he gave the ring back to his father after being reunited with him earlier. Genius.
