20 Things You Somehow Missed In Thor: Ragnarok
10. The Film's Production Saw The Involvement Of Australian Indigenous Communities
Unlike most MCU features, Thor: Ragnarok was largely filmed in Australia's Gold Coast. Usually, this would not impact the film's story or visuals all that much but the Asgardian threequel had considerable involvement from an Indigenous community near the film's production.
In conjunction with Screen Australia's Indigenous Department, Taika Waititi was able to hire several interns in various behind the scenes capacities. These largely revolved around designing props (such as those used in the Sakaaran Hulk Parade) and most notably the inclusion of Indigenous imagery throughout the film's art direction.
All this happened because of Waititi's involvement, as he wished to give the local communities a chance to be part of a large production in a way he could not when he was younger.
