2. The Dark Knight Rises

While it may be nigh-on impossible to pinpoint the exact moment, there came a point where everybody just seemed to turn on The Dark Knight Rises. Forget the fact that it earned over a billion dollars at the box office and still sits at 87% 'fresh' on Rotten Tomatoes, some people would have you believe its the worst comic book movie ever made.

Christopher Nolan had impossibly high expectations to meet in the wake of The Dark Knight, still regarded as the greatest comic book movie ever made, and while the follow-up makes a huge number of baffling narrative decisions, it is by far the dumpster fire many corners of the internet have decreed it to be.

Even with that damp squib of an ending, The Dark Knight Rises is still a satisfying and expertly-crafted conclusion to the trilogy, even if the writing lets it down a great deal.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
