7. Deep Water
Deep Water is a new disaster horror film from Renny Harlin, which alone is enough to send most folks' expectations for the film crashing through the Earth's core.
Though once upon a time a reliable journeyman director with the likes of Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, and The Long Kiss Goodnight to his name, the last 25 years of Harlin's career has been a near-non-stop avalanche of duds.
But there is at least some scattered hope for Deep Water, considering the film's utterly nutty premise.
After a plane headed from Los Angeles to Shanghai is forced to make an emergency landing in the ocean - a terrifying enough premise already - things get worse when said waters turn out to be shark-infested.
It may be no coincidence that Harlin's last film to score even halfway-decent reviews was 1999's classic shark movie Deep Blue Sea, and so with the director returning to the creature feature for his next project, one can hope it'll result in his best-received film since.
