20 Well-Known Movie "Facts" That Are Actually Bulls**t

11. It Was The First Movie To Feature A Fart Joke - Blazing Saddles

It would make perfect sense - if it were at all true. Mel Brooks' western comedy, Blazing Saddles, is often regarded to be the first feature length movie to feature a "fart joke" - the classic scene where all the guys are sitting around the campfire, and then there are beans and... you get the idea. Contrary to popular belief, though, another movie rendering fart jokes on the big screen long before Mel Brooks had the inspired idea to do so. Which means that the wrong movie is often attributed with bringing what is often derided as the "worst" of all jokes to the cinematic medium. Believe it or not, the 1959 Japanese Ozu flick"Good Morning features a fart joke in what feels like every other scene. In fact, one of said fart jokes is played as something of a running gag. There are even two scenes (one at the beginning and one at the end) based around a farting competition. Seriously. In an Ozu film and everything. Who'd have thought?
