20 Worst Moments In Wizarding World Movies
4. The Final Twist - Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald
One of the many great things about the Harry Potter books and films was their ingenious plot twists, but the first big twist in the Fantastic Beasts leg of the franchise was a huge blunder.
At the end of Fantastic Beasts 2, it is revealed that Creedence Barebone (Ezra Miller) is in fact Aurelius Dumbledore, Albus Dumbledore's long-lost brother.
Huh?!
This doesn't make any goddamn sense and the franchise has now painted itself into a corner; how are they going to explain it in the next film?
Once you look at the established lore, the existence of another Dumbledore seems impossible. Aurelius was apparently born around 1901, but both the Dumbledore parents had died by then. Additionally, the father was in Azkaban for several years before his death, so it would've been very hard for him to have another kid.
This might be given a reasonable explanation in the next film, but for now it's one of the franchise's worst and most bewildering narrative choices.
