Worst Films Of 2016
Lionsgate

Who would have ever thought that a film starring the combined talents of Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino would ever be so stupefyingly boring? Or that of the top three billed characters Josh Duhamel would be the one to come out with the most goodwill on release. It's like upside down world.

Unfortunately, Duhamel is not a leading man - he's okay enough playing dense supporting characters to Transformers, but asked to lead a supposedly sharp, intelligent thriller he's just not up to the task. Especially as the thriller is neither sharp nor intelligent, with a script that is ridiculously contrived and flat-out stupid at times.

Luckily, the studio spunked a whopping £11m on making it, which presumably all went to the ageing stars on the bill and not to any directing or writing talent who might have rescued it. Because adding awful aesthetic choices to try and distract from the actual substance of the film just isn't going to cut it.
