20 Worst Movies Of 2017
12. Underworld: Blood Wars
A while back, the Underworld series was actually pretty good. Most of its sequels came at a time when Twilight was giving vampires a bad name and it seemed to be built on more overtly rock and roll bones. It even established a fairly committed fanbase too, with all of the first four movies making between $90m and $160m at the box office, and the last time out took the highest, so it seemed the appetite for more action was there.
Sadly, the reward we all got for going to see the last film in the series was a continuation of the dilution of talent, more silly plotting and pedestrian performances.
And while there are some points to hand out to Screen Gems for giving Anna Foerster the reins, they lose them immediately for the material they saddled her with. It's impossible to watch as a casual viewer and it's all so joyless that you'll probably pine for some Edward Cullen action.
