Gemini Man was sold on the notion of never before seen frame rate quality, but combined with the CGI Will Smiths, it just made the whole thing look unsettling. The bigger issue though was that under the visuals, there was nothing at all worth caring about.

Strip away the double curiosity of the clone visuals and the frame rate, and Gemini Man was a tale somehow both ridiculously outrageous and utterly dull. It was half baked, ran into several dead ends, and while there were some kernels of narrative intrigue in there, they remained unpopped throughout the movie.

Characters are flat, dialogue is entirely expositional, and almost every action is undertaken solely to propel the plot forward. The fact the movie was written by David Benioff, his first project since the disastrous finale of Game Of Thrones, didn’t go unnoticed by gleeful fans celebrating with schadenfreude.
