20 Worst Movies Of 2021 (So Far)
18. Crisis
The latest film from Nicholas Jarecki (Arbitrage) had all the potential in the world to be Traffic for the opioid era, but the generic scripting and sluggish pacing ensure it's a staggering dull effort.
The central cast members - Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer, and Evangeline Lilly - are portioned off into their own episodic, wildly inconsistent subplots, and the means through which they're threaded together isn't remotely satisfying.
Oldman in particular is very good here, but the whole feels oddly airless and insubstantial while tackling such an urgent issue.
Also, good luck figuring out what they were trying to do with Michelle Rodriguez in this thing, as going by her scant screen time her part was whittled down severely during editing.
