20 Worst Movies Of 2021 (So Far)

The latest film from Francis Ford Coppola's granddaughter Gia (Palo Alto) has all the makings of a cult classic, despite the fact it's just not very good at all.

Mainstream takes aim at the worthwhile target of influencer culture, yet beyond Andrew Garfield's intriguingly unhinged performance, never quite convinces as written by people who actually know much about social media at all.

Beyond its intentionally obnoxious presentation, Mainstream has shockingly little new to say about what being online means in 2021, and leans so hard on Garfield's committed performance - and also the efforts of castmate Maya Hawke - that it unsurprisingly falls apart by film's end.

It may not be the very worst film of the year, but it is quite arguably the most annoying, exhausting, and just plain frustrating to sit through.
