Movies aimed at Christian audiences certainly don't need to be hermetically sealed and personality-allergic, yet you couldn't be blamed for thinking otherwise.
And the bleakest addition to the pile in 2023 was the based-on-true-events On a Wing on a Prayer, which stars Dennis Quaid as Doug White, a man forced to pilot a light aircraft containing his family after the pilot dies mid-flight.
In the right hands this could've been a tight survival drama, but instead there's no tension to be found, the faith-based aspect is unbearably corny, and Dennis Quaid gives a risible performance in the lead role, with co-star Heather Graham not too far behind.
