20 Worst Performances In MCU Movies
2. Christopher Eccleston
Character: Malekith
Appeared In: Thor: The Dark World
Here we come to the single worst villain in the history of the MCU. Poor Christopher Eccleston.
Eccleston is a very talented actor but he doesn't make many films, so it's tragic that he chose this role when there will have been many other better things he could be doing. It's even more depressing that he ended up in the MCU's worst film to date playing a... space elf. Yep, a space elf.
That sounds quite funny, but Malekith the space elf is as far from humorous as you can get. Melekith's lack of physical presence, tired voice and generally bored demeanor make him one of the most bland comic book movie villains of them all and his eventual death was a huge relief.
Eccleston has subsequently admitted this was just a paycheck role and that makes perfect sense. Frankly it's staggering to believe he's capable of such flat line-readings.
Still, if this irritated you, think about how much more painful it was for all the Doctor Who fans (like me) seeing one of the most beloved iterations of the character wasted on such an embarassing villain.
