20 Worst Performances In Superhero Movies

5. Matt Salinger (Captain America) - Captain America

More than two decades before Chris Evans wowed everyone with his definitive rendition of Captain America, J.D. Salinger's son Matt took the part of Steve Rogers in this painfully amateur superhero misfire.

Granted, nothing here works at all, but Salinger's awkward performance is nothing short of hysterical, looking lost and uncomfortable in the movie's low-fi action sequences and making the audience suffer through howlingly wooden dialogue delivery.

At least Salinger's work is as consistently awful as everything else here, with his general lack of charisma and how bad the (admittedly naff) suit looks on him, but such an iconic hero was clearly deserving of so much better (and fans had to wait far too long to get it done right).
