20 Worst Performances In Superhero Movies

12. Dolph Lundgren (The Punisher) - The Punisher

The 1989 Punisher movie is almost universally regarded as a terrible movie, and standing front-and-center is a peak-era Dolph Lundgren as the man himself, Frank Castle.

Now, to Lundgren's mild credit, he certainly looks like the vengeful bada** everyone wants The Punisher to be, but the man's never been renowned for his acting chops, and he can't do much with the film's litany of goofy one-liners.

Lundgren suits the physical requirements of the part just fine, but he ends up trying to make Castle stoic and accidentally makes him weirdly boring.

You may not like the other Punisher movies either, but at least Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson captured part of the character's emotional essence. Here, Dolph doesn't seem like he cares much at all.
