10 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed

3. Blade

Bridget Jones Mad About Boy
Marvel Studios & Fox

At this point it might be more fair to say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Blade reboot is straight-up cursed.

The film was first announced, with Mahershala Ali confirmed to star as the Daywalker, at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, and despite Ali making an off-screen cameo as the character in Eternals three years ago, the movie still hasn't started filming.

Since then the project has cycled through numerous writers and directors, with various reports indicating that Marvel and Ali are struggling to agree on a worthy script.

After numerous stalled starts and release date delays, the film was recently pulled from the calendar entirely, with its planned November 7, 2025 release date taken off the table.

While it's likely that Blade will get made eventually, the strained pre-production doesn't paint an encouraging picture, especially with Ali reportedly growing frustrated with the creative process and, at 50 years of age, already being considerably older than Wesley Snipes was when he stopped playing the role.

At this point, it might be better to just admit defeat and move on.
