20 Actors Who Will CRUSH Upcoming Movie Roles

12. Austin Abrams - Resident Evil

Though Amy Madigan was the undeniable, Oscar-winning MVP of Zach Cregger's brilliant Weapons, Austin Abrams wasn't too far behind as James, a strung-out drug addict who is inexplicably pulled into this world of witchcraft.

The very week of Weapons' release, Cregger confirmed that Abrams will be playing the lead of his much-anticipated adaptation of legendary video game franchise Resident Evil.

And while some initially assumed Abrams would be playing the series' iconic hero Leon Kennedy, he will, in fact, be playing an entirely new protagonist by the name of Bryan.

Though that doesn't give us a whole lot to go on, a recent script leak indicates that Abrams' Bryan will be an in-over-his-head organ courier desperately racing to deliver a vital package to a laboratory, all while being relentlessly pursued by uncanny horrors throughout Raccoon City.

That sounds like a perfect fit for Abrams, frankly - the guy did a masterful job playing an unsuspecting person thrown into abject horror in Weapons, so there's little reason to believe he won't knock it out of the park once again.
