21 Incredibly Obscure DC Movie Easter Eggs

4. Alfred's Shazam Shout-Out - Batman v Superman

During Alfred's attempts to teach Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne a lesson on morality and corruption at the start of Batman v Superman, he makes a subtle but delightful allusion to a lesser-known member of the upcoming DCEU slate: Shazam.

His attempt to reason with Batman reads like this:

"...Everything's changed. Men fall from the sky, the gods hurl thunderbolts, innocents die. That's how it starts, sir. The fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness that turns good men... cruel."

Initially it seems like that's a reference to the Man Of Steel finale, where Zod and Superman battle over Metropolis and cause untold collateral damage. But that "Gods hurl thunderbolts" doesn't fit. That instead feels like a reference to the forthcoming Shazam movie that has already cast The Rock, and while it's said that that film will stand apart from the main DCEU, it's a nice Easter Egg all the same.
