21 Things Horror Movies Ruined For Every One

5. The South

Notable offenders: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), Cabin Fever (2002), Wrong Turn (2003) The horror genre oftentimes has an annoying habit of feeding into a number of stereotypes. They often depict the black guy as the tough/cool guy. Any blonde is usually the slutty girl who will have sex with just about anybody. And unfortunately the southern regions of the United States are usually depicted as states filled to the brim with inbred hillbillies who want nothing more than to rape, slaughter, and sometimes cannibalize out of towners. Now, of course these are exaggerations but if you're not from the south (or worse yet, not from the United States) you'd be forgiven when you become a little worrisome when you see that kid playing a banjo on his porch while spitting chewing tobacco.
