Notable offenders: The Exorcist (1973), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Ju-on: The Grudge (2002) William Friedkin's The Exorcist had its fair share of frightening moments. You had young Regan vomiting (pea soup) in the face of a priest. You had her head spinning around in a complete 360. And you even had her masturbating with a crucifix. However, the most stand-out moment of the film comes when Regan comes hurrying down the stairs on all fours doing her best crab-walk impersonation. Also, any Nightmare on Elm Street fan would be lying to themselves if the thought of suddenly sinking into their stairs just as Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) did in the film never crossed their mind. So the lesson here is always use the elevator when you're able to. Wait, that doesn't sound like a good idea either.
