Samuel L. Jackson is famously playing the role he was born to play at the moment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jackson has portrayed Nick Fury in some capacity in seven movies in the franchise to date, starting with that fan-baiting cameo in the post-credits scene of the first Iron Man. He will apparently reprise the role in several future movies too. He also appeared in 2008's The Spirit, however, as the main villain the Octopus. The Spirit is a comic that has been published by a number of companies, one of which is DC, and the Octopus is a former coroner who made a transformation into becoming a psychotic supervillain.
