The Murder: Six murders, all based on the seven deadly sins. Who: An obese man for gluttony, a rich attorney for greed, a drug dealer and child molester for sloth, a prostitute for lust, a young model for pride. By Whom: John Doe. Motive: John Doe kills these people to remind the world of the inevitability of the seven deadly sins. What Makes It Insane? The ending of Seven showed the full extent of John Doe's insanity. When he was caught, his act was not yet over. When he and the two detectives, Mills and Somerset, arrive at the remote location Doe chose as part of his demand for confessing the crime, a package is delivered to that spot exactly. Somerset opens it and finds Mills' wife's head inside. John Doe explains he did it out of envy and Mills goes nuts, killing Doe - thus, representing Wrath. With that murder, he fulfilled Doe's plan, which was blood-chillingly cunning and absolutely insane.
