16. Gerald's Game

Release: 2015? Status: Announced Gerald's Game (the least sexy of all titles) is like the answer to why there isn't more sex in King's novels. Because he's clearly got some issues. The Game in question involves lots of kinky bondage sex as the central married couple attempt to escalate their love life in a secluded log cabin (because what could possibly go wrong?), and one ends up dead while the other loses her grip on reality. Mike Flanagan (Oculus) is directing, and you can probably expect a fairly adult rating. Prospects: In the wake of Fifty Shades Of Grey's success, this is probably the perfect time for King's darkest and sexiest novel to be made for the screen. And this could make that silly not-porn look like a cartoon by comparison. Especially since Fifty Shades didn't have a Space Cowboy in it.
